Process

• A partial misconception is that “design” is how we say something, not what we say. True, design is a visual language, but strategy must come first. We believe it is imperative to define what we are saying before opening a dialogue with any audience. This is where our design process begins on every project, big or small:

• LEARN—listen and probe, gather information, clarify the objectives and the scope of work

• DEFINE—determine an approach, assign role players, develop schedules and budgets

  EXPLORE—make it our business to know our client’s business; services, strategies, competition and market position

  INVENT—create solutions, present ideas, collaborate with the client, and refine the direction

  EXECUTE—coordinate and manage designs through to completion

Tandemodus is a small client-focused firm that has grown from the idea that collaboration is king. Through research, we give our clients a comprehensive point of view. Through insight, we take that research and give clients a unique voice. And through collaboration, we create the most powerful resource of all, an invaluable lasting partnership.

  • Andy Eltzroth

    • With his unparalleled ability to motivate, Andy has been known to move boulders up a mountain with just words. He approaches each day with the motto, “get into your day before your day gets into you.” He is responsible for all strategic development within Tandemodus and client relationships. Andy is known to offer a handshake palm up, to indicate his “at-your-service” intentions of doing business and customer service.

  • Adam Katz

    • Adam is our catalyst for collaboration. All it takes is a bit of coffee (black) and some tunes, and he is off and running. He utilizes his energy and enthusiasm to bring out the best in everyone around him. Our resident librarian identifies what’s hot (PMS 172) and what’s not in current music, design and all things worldly. With a design pedigree second to none, Adam utilizes his experiences to create innovative and effective solutions.

      When not designing, Adam can be found making a mean taco salad, being active outside and cheering on Pittsburgh sports teams.

  • Kelly Komp

    • As our fearless creative director and lover of all things design, Kelly is the master of complex messaging and meticulous design solutions. He has managed a variety of brand, identity, print, environmental and online communication design programs throughout his career, and approaches each new challenge as though it will be his last. Kelly’s tireless pursuit for perfection ensures that every project that goes out our doors is inline with its strategic vision.

      In his spare time, Kelly enjoys spending time with his family and spotting Scarlet Tanagers and Gray Jays. He is a member and current Programming Co-Chair of the Chicago Chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design.
